Ranbir Kapoor apologises for fat-shaming pregnant wife Alia Bhatt

Ranbir Kapoor publicly apologised for his fat-shaming comment regarding his wife Alia Bhatt’s pregnancy by stating ‘he has a bad sense of humour’.
During the promotional event of Ranbir’s upcoming film ‘Brahmastra’, one of the journalists asked about his comment about Alia Bhatt that irked people online who called it weight-shaming.
To which the actor replied, “Firstly, let me start with, I love my wife with everything that I have in my life. And what happened on that, I think it’s a joke that didn’t turn out to be funny. I really want to apologise if I have triggered anyone. It was not my intention. So, I want to say sorry to people who got offended or triggered. I spoke to Alia about it and she really laughed it off and she didn’t mind it”.
Ranbir then justified his statement by saying he has a ‘bad sense of humour that sometimes falls flat on my own face. So I am sorry if I have hurt anyone about it”.
Previously, the incident happened when Alia Bhatt responded to a question regarding the Brahmastra team not actively promoting the movie as they had earlier done during a live session. Bhatt said, “we will promote the film, and we will be everywhere but if the question you are asking is why we are not “phailoed” everywhere, right now our focus is”. Her husband Ranbir interrupted and said, “well I can see somebody has phailoed (spread)”.
