In an exclusive interview with Dialogue Pakistan, the former national cricket team’s Captain and coach Rashid Latif has said that Quetta Gladiators need to work hard in order to come back in the tournament
The Gladiators have failed to win the two matches played against Karachi Kings and Lahore Qalandar. Lahore Qalandars defeated the Quetta by 9 wickets on Monday.
While commenting on Sarfaraz Ahmed, the captain of the PSL franchise, Rashid says ,”Sarfaraz is excited and frustrated. He now needs to control himself.”
On criticism faced by Sarfaraz, Rashid claims that Sarfaraz is a big player and big players face such criticism when they fail to perform. However, he mentions the achievements of Sarfaraz as a captain which he says “unfortunately no one has”.
The former cricketer also praises the overall performance displayed by Lahore Qalandars so far in this season of PSL. “Mohammad Hafeez is in his prime form at the last stage of his career and young cricketers need to learn from him,” he adds.
While responding to the question about tensions between Sarfaraz and Hafeez being observed on social media, Rashid has said that social media users have no knowledge of cricket.
“In Pakistan there are 200 million people and all 200 million people are (so-called) experts,” he states.
For today’s match between Peshawar Zalmi and Multan Sultans, Rashid declares that there are some chances of Peshawar’s victory in the match.
