Quarantine centres closed around Lahore as arrival policy for passengers changes

More than 12,500 passengers were ordered to remove themselves at their homes. They will no longer be offered transportation to their homes from the airport.

According to the deputy commissioner, the administration has spent Rs150 million on passengers returning to the country within two months.

Centers were built in Kala Shah Kaku, Thokar Niaz Baig, Punjab University,

Lahore University and Gaddafi Stadium-Nishtar Park. There was also a temporary hospital closed at Kala Shah Kaku.

Lahore University’s center consisted of 250 beds and Rs0.8 million was spent on its operation, while Rs1.3 million was spent on the Thokar Niaz Baig 200-bed centre. The administration spent Rs0.8 million on temporary hospital for Kala Shah Kaku.
