QAED and SBB Dewan University jointly organized Mushaira on 144th Anniversary of Allama Iqbal

Quaid-i-Azam Academy and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Dewan University jointly organized a prestigious Mushaira at Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Dewan University on the occasion of the 144th birth anniversary of Allama Muhammad Iqbal.
The ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Quran.
In the introductory remarks, Director of Quaid-i-Azam Academy, Zahid Hussain Abro thanked the participants & said that Quaid-i-Azam Academy has conducted more than ten different programs in one year, adding that one of the main objectives of Quaid-e-Azam Academy is research, for that academy publishes books which students can benefit from.
In his special address, Dr. Shahid Zameer Sahib highlighted the personality of the ‘Poet of the East’. He further said that Iqbal’s philosophy was not only for the youth of that time but Iqbal’s thoughts are a beacon for the youth of every age.
University students also presented poetries at the event.
Chief guest of the event, President Muhammad Ali Jinnah University Zubair A. Sheikh presented bouquets to the poets at the beginning of the Mushaira. Leading poets of ‘City of Lights’ and ‘Urdu World’ including Khalid Moin, Khalilullah Farooqi, Ambreen Haseeb Ambar, Haider Hasnain Jalisi, Dr. Hina Ambreen Tariq, Wajih Sani, Imran Shamshad, Salman Sarwat, Abbas Mumtaz and Dr. Nadeem Naqvi addressed the audience with their words. The audience in the hall applauded the poets for their poetry.
At the end of the Mushaira, the chief guest and President of the gathering Mr. Zubair A. Sheikh delivered the Presidential Address in which he appreciated the efforts of Director Quaid-i-Azam Academy, Mr. Zahid Hussain Abro and Vice Chancellor Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Dewan University Mr. Aurangzeb Khan.
Vice Chancellor Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Dewan University, Prof. Dr. Aurangzeb Khan, in his closing remarks, thanked the participants and distinguished guests and expressed his determination to hold such an event in future also.
At the end of the ceremony, shields were presented to the poets and guests and a cake was cut on the connection with the celebration of the birth anniversary of the Poet of the East – Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal.
