QAA commemorates Quaid’s death anniversary
- Qur’an recitation & Mushaira was held in memory of Quaid-e-Azam on the occasion of his 73rd Death Anniversary.
The 73rd Death Anniversary of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan, was commemorated on Friday with utmost devotion & respect at Quaid-i-Azam Academy, Karachi..
In this regard, Qur’an recitation was arranged for the departed soul of Jinnah and Mushaira was organized in his memory.
At the beginning of the ceremony, Director Quaid-i-Azam Academy Zahid Hussain Abro said that Quaid-i-azam was a person who kept his illness a secret so that the ‘purpose of Pakistan’ would not be harmed. He did not forget the nation even in the midst of his ill health.
Abro further said that today is not a day to mourn for Jinnah but a day to pay tribute to him.
The Mushaira was presided over by the country’s most popular poet Anwar Shaoor Sahib. Leading poets of the country including Anwar Shaoor, Dr. Hina Ambreen, Kamran Nafees, Khalid Moeen, Aftab Muztar, Shakeel Khan, Fida Hussain, Rashid Anwar and Rehana Roohi paid tribute to the Father of the Nation through their poetry.
On this occasion, Anwar Shaoor, president of the event thanked the Director Quaid-i-Azam Academy, Zahid Hussain Abro for organizing this prestigious event in the memory of Quaid-i-Azam. He added, “Quaid-i-Azam was born on the birth date of Essa Massih and he became the Messiah of the Muslims of subcontinent.”
At the end of the event, Zahid Hussain Abro thanked all the participants including the poets for coming.
