Punjab province is now ‘polio free’

As per media reports on Friday (today), Punjab province is now free from the polio virus.
This big news came out after the environmental sample of water was taken from different cities sevarage across the Punjab province.
All the collected samples resulted in a negative report which made it evident that Punjab is now free from polio virus.
Chief Minister (CM) of Punjab Usman Buzdar has mentioned this was achieved due to the hard work of anti polio workers.
Usman Buzdar further said that the anti polio drive will continue to work to prevent the emergence of any new case in the province.

Earlier in October, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on National Health Services Dr. Faisal Sultan stated that Pakistan is on the verge to eradicate polio from the country soon.
This is a major breakthrough in eliminating polio from Pakistan. The concerned authorities are keen to further eliminate the polio from remaining provinces of Pakistan.
