On Monday, the Punjab police formulated security plan for Pakistan-Bangladesh T20 series. More than 10,000 personnel will be deployed, according to the security plan.
According to Babar Saeed DIG Operations, 17 SSPs, 48 DSPs, 134 inspectors and 592 upper sub-ordinates will be deployed during the series.
“Lahore police is fully prepared for the series’ security,” claimed DIG operations.
He added that Lahore police plays a prominent role in bringing international cricket back in Pakistan.
He said police are in contact with all concerned institutions regarding security arrangements, and search and sweep operations are ongoing in the vicinity of the the teams’ accommodation, route and stadium’s premises and surety bonds are also being collected from concerned individuals to ensure peaceful series.
Babar Saeed further said that Dolphin squad, Elite and PRU teams will patrol constantly, snipers will be deployed on high rise buildings and monitoring of teams and stadium sides will be done through CCTV cameras.
DIG operations said maintaining traffic flow regular is a priority to mitigate problems faced by the public. He further said prohibited things will be totally banned in the stadium.
He also requested cricket fans to cooperate with police and park their vehicles at alloted spots.
