The government of Punjab has authorized the opening of shopping malls and other markets throughout the week including large plazas.

As per details, Secretary Primary and Secondary Health Care Captain (retd) Muhammad Usman issued a notice to open shopping malls and other markets including large plazas on the direction of the Punjab government’s Anti-Corona cabinet committee.

According to the notification, all shopping malls and squares in the province will remain open 7 days a week from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., while food courts and play areas will remain closed in shopping malls and major plazas.

The notification said that all shopping malls and plazas would have to have SOPs implemented.

It also released rules and regulations for shopping malls and plazas along with the notice, according to the Secretary Primary and Secondary Health Care.

It may be recalled that the Supreme Court had ordered Saturday and Sunday, during the hearing of the Coronavirus suo motu notice case, to keep small markets open across the country, and also to open shopping malls.
