The Punjab government agreed to ease its lockdown after 9 May. So far the province has recorded 8,693 novel coronavirus cases.
Textile, steel, and spare part shops will run for six hours. Shopkeepers have been directed to obey the SOPs strictly when interacting with the public.
Parks will also be reopened to the public, but no swings or rides will be allowed on them.
The province made the announcement prior to today’s (Wednesday) meeting of the Regional Command and Control Centre.
Minister of Planning Asad Umar will chair the meeting in Islamabad to determine whether or not to extend the country-wide lockdown after 9 May.
The meeting is being attended by the chief ministers from all provinces via video connection.
