Punjab Govt announces to pay monthly stipend to transgenders
The Punjab government has decided to provide monthly stipend to transgender persons under a new programme.
The Special Assistant to Punjab Chief Minister on Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan, shared details of new programme, ‘Ehsaas Punjab Masawaat Programme’ for transgender persons.
However, the disabled transgender persons aged between 18 and 40 will get Rs2,000 per month, while transgender persons above 40 years will be receiving Rs3,000 per month.
According to Dr Firdous, the government aims to prioritise the less privileged people of society in all its projects.
She further revealed that, CM Usman Buzdar has announced Rs9 billion in for the development of the people residing in Bhakkar.
