PTI’s Asad Qaiser meets PML-N leaders in Bahawalpur

PTI’s Asad Qaiser meets PML-N leaders in Bahawalpur

Former National Assembly speaker and PTI senior leader Asad Qaiser met PML-N former senator Chaudhry Saud Majeed and ex-MPA Chaudhry Khalid Mehmood Jajja in Bahawalpur, according to sources.

The three leaders had dinner and discussed the country’s current political situation as well as exchanged views on regional politics.

An associate of Saud Majeed confirmed that the former senator attended the dinner but insisted that no political issues were discussed during the meeting.

According to him, it was a meeting of friends as Saud Chaudhry has old affiliation with PML-N and he could not leave the party.

The PTI leader met former senator Majeed and ex-MPA Jajja at the latter’s farmhouse in the Cholistan Desert.

Khalid Jajja invited some prominent people from Charsadda District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) to his native village Yazman where Asad Qaiser came along with others.

Political analysts believe that Asad Qaiser’s visit may have something to do with Yazman’s future political alignment.

Interestingly, Federal Minister for National Food Security Tariq Bashir Cheema, who has distanced himself from Punjab Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi and has joined Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s cabinet, is an arch-rival of Chaudhry Saud Majeed, who is close aid and loyal of PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif.

In addition, the current electoral situation seems different for Majeed, who has smelt that the PML-N leadership may favour Cheema in the next general election as he is planning to introduce his son Chaudhry Walidaad Cheema in politics from Yazman in the upcoming general elections.
