PTI refused govt’s long-term interim setup offer: Asad Qaisar

Former National Assembly speaker and PTI leader Asad Qaisar revealed that the government offered the PTI a long-term interim government set-up, but party refused it.
“No extra-constitutional demand will be accepted in any shape,” he said while speaking to private news channel.
Qaisar said the PTI is ready to hold talks if the government announces an election date.
He said that the Constitution has no provision for long-term interim government and that such an extra-constitutional offer must be rejected at all costs.
Referring to PTI MNAs resignations from parliament, Ex-Speaker said that he had a long conversation with the Speaker NA Raja Pervaiz Ashraf and asked him to accept PTI lawmakers’ resignations.
He furthered that former Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri has already accepted PTI’s resignations, but the current speaker is delaying due to political benefits.
Qaisar lashed out at NA Speaker for showing biasness by accepting resignations of PTI lawmakers who won 2018 general elections with low margin.
The PTI leader further cleared the air that no party member of National Assembly was receiving salary saying, “IF they [government] have any proof then public the details.”
