Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has so far won 25 seats in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) legislative elections. The unofficial results of polls in 44 of the total 45 general seats have ensured that the federal party is going to form new government in the region.
Following the PTI’s lead, Pakistan Peoples Party has claimed victory in 11 seats while Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz have managed to attain six seats. One seat was won by Muslim Conference (MC) and Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Party (JKPP).
Meanwhile, the PPP and the PML-N have raised concerns regarding rigging in the polls. The parties’ leaders have complained about delaying the election results.
While responding to a post on Twitter, PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz has said that she has not accepted the result and she will neither do it.
“I have even never accepted the 2018 (general election) results and this fake government,” she adds.
The PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has also condemned “violence & rigging” in AJK polls.
“ECP failed to take action vs PTI for violating electoral rules. Despite this, PPP emerged as largest opposition party in AJK with 11 seats, up from 3 seats last time,” the party’s chairman says while sharing the list of the winning candidates.
