PTI lawmaker who defeated Bilawal in 2018 elections quits politics
Shakoor Shad, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawmaker who had defeated PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari in the constituency of Lyari in the 2018 general elections, announced on Thursday that he was quitting politics on health grounds.
Shakoor Shad said that he could not continue his political activities due to ill health so he has declared complete disassociation from political activities, he will not participate in the next elections.
“I announce my withdrawal from political activities and politics. I will also not run in the upcoming elections,” he said in a statement.
However, party sources claimed that the reason for Abdul Shakoor Shad’s withdrawal from politics was not ill health but organizational differences with PTI Karachi president Bilal Ghafoor over the appointment of leaders in Lyari Town after which the PTI leader decided to withdraw from politics completely.
