Former President Asif Ali Zardari has criticized the bills that were passed in the Joint Parliamentary Session on Wednesday (yesterday).
Asif Ali Zardari mentioned that PTI led government is succeeding in these types of amendments because of other reasons, he said “the other reasons are very well known by you.”
In a Joint Parliament Session held on Wednesday, the bills presented by the government were passed without taking the opposition in confidence.
Opposition parties opposed the bills and termed it as “black law”. One of the bill that was debated the most was the usage of Electronic Voting Machine in the upcoming general elections of 2023.
PTI led government wants the induction of EVM instead of paper stamp voting while the opposition called this step as the advancement towards the rigging in the general elections.
Former President Asif Ali Zardari expressed that PTI is spending all of its energy on sowing the seeds of something which fruits will not be reaped by them. Instead, someone else will benefit from it.
During the Joint Parliament Session, the co-chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party mentioned that the government is making the upcoming elections “controversial” from the day of passing the bill.
Meanwhile, opposition leader Shehbaz Sharif termed EVM as the “Evil Vicious Machine.”
