IT Minister Aminul Haque has announced that the trial of 5G, fastest internet data rate with download speed reaching 1.685 gigabits per second, was conducted successfully.
The trial ceremony was conducted by PTCL group at the PTCL headquarters.
During the trial ceremony, Aminul Haque said, “I believe that communication plays a major role in the social economic development and uplift of the financial inclusion of the country.”
Moreover, the establishment of 5G internet would aid in economic prosperity and social development.
“PTCL Group’s successful 5G trial today is a major step that will pave the way towards digitalisation of Pakistan. This technology will open new avenues in many fields such as education, health, security and communication that will have a positive social and economic impact for our country,” said IT and Telecommunication Secretary Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui.
PTCL in a statement said that the future of medicine was within its grasp as PTCL Group conducted 5G trial in a limited environment, the new generation of wireless network technology, focused to revolutionize health ecosystem through making remote diagnosis, treatment and surgery possible.
