 PTA bans TikTok app

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has decided to ban TikTok application in the country.

The spokesperson for PTA said that the ban was imposed for sharing immodest and improper content on the social media platform. He said people complained about the content to the regulatory authority.

He said a final notice had been issued to the PTA and it was given time to submit its reply. He said the management of the application was informed about the ban.

The PTA said that it could review its decision after TikTok’s removal of immoral and improper content from its platform.
