Multan Sultans stun Zalmi to win PSL 6

In the final match of the Pakistan Super League season six, Multan Sultans have beaten Peshawar Zalmi by 47 runs at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi.

Earlier, the Zalmi won the toss and invited Multan Sultans to bat first. The Sultans scored 206 runs for the loss of four wickets as Sohaib Maqsood contributed 64 runs, followed by Rilee Rossouw (50) and Shan Masood (37).

The chasing team was restricted to 159 runs against the target of 207 runs. Imran Tahir bagged three-wicket haul while two dismissals claimed by Imran Khan and Blessing Muzarabani each.

It was first time that the Sultans qualified for the final whereas the Zalmi became champion in 2017 and had remained runners-up in 2018 and 2019.

Earlier, the PSL 6 was postponed in March due to growing Covid-19 concerns in Pakistan. It was later rescheduled in United Arab Emirates which resumed on June 9.
