The Duke of Cambridge Prince William has revealed that he has been volunteering during the ongoing lockdown.
He admitted to have been secretly counseling people at Shout 85258, which offers assistance to people gripped in mental health problems through text messages.
Prince William has said the charity for mental health has trained him. He had reacted to the messages.
Last month he admitted to the fellow volunteers in a video call, “I’m going to share a little secret with you guys, but I’m actually on the platform volunteering.”
The Sussex Cambridges and the Duke and Duchess have invested £3 m in the service through their Royal Foundation to help introduce last year’s helpline Shout 85258.
There have been more than 300,000 text conversations on the service. The charity estimated that approximately 65 per cent of texters are under the age of 25. Several people had found treatment for mental wellbeing.
The operation runs 24/7. Those texting 2,000 Shout volunteers, would not know a royal family member is talking to them.
