President writes letter to Imran, Shahbaz for the caretaker Prime Minister

ISLAMABAD: President Arif Alvi has written a letter to PM Imran Khan and opposition leader Shahbaz Sharif to consult in the formation of caretaker government.

The President has written a letter to the Prime Minister Imran and Shahbaz Sharif stating that if there is no agreement on a single name within three days of the dissolution of the Assembly, then they two will have to send two names from each to the committee.

The President’s letter said that if the Prime Minister and the Leader of the Opposition do not agree on a single name for the caretaker Prime Minister, then the Speaker of the National Assembly will form an eight-member committee comprising members of both the government and the opposition. It will consist of members of the National Assembly and members of the Senate.

Yesterday, on the advice of Prime Minister Imran Khan, the President dissolved the National Assembly and directed the Prime Minister Imran Khan to continue his work till the caretaker PM appointed.
