ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi on Saturday visited the Panahgah (shelter home) being run under Baitul Mal in Korangi area of Karachi, where he spent some time with workers and had a meal together with them.
He stressed upon the need of adopting pro-poor policy to make the country a welfare state on the pattern of Riyasat e Madina.
Dr Arif Alvi inquired about arrangements of Panahgah from workers. The workers expressed satisfaction over arrangements and appreciated the government for this step of welfare of the people.
The president stressed that Pakistan Baitul Mal should also take further steps to help the poor and needy people.
