President Dr. Arif Alvi has highlighted the need for promotion of modern education in aim of competing on a global scale.
Addressing the ILMpossible Summit organized by British Council, in Islamabad on Monday, he said emphasis should be on the latest technology to impart education at the ground level.
The president said it is also pertinent to change the mindset of education for girls and they need to be fully provided with any means necessary to acquire education.
Referring to the APS tragedy, the President said it was the most heartfelt incident that changed the path of Pakistan. He offered tribute to the martyred children and their families.
Arif Alvi regretted that schools in Indian occupied Kashmir are shut over the last five months and nobody knows when these will open again.
He said India is igniting hatred through religion.
