‘Prayers should be offered on plain floor at mosque during Ramadan’
ISLAMABAD: After consultation with ulema, President Arif Alvi on Wednesday issued a notification regarding the Coronavirus standard operating procedures related to namaz, taraweeh and aitekaf to be adopted during Ramadan.
According to the notification, people above the age of 60 years and children should not come to mosque/ imambargah. It said prayers should be offered on plain and clean floor.
“Spreading rugs and carpets at mosques/ imambargahs will not be allowed during Ramadan,” it added.
Praying rug can be brought from home to offer prayer. Offering prayer on road or footpath should be avoided. A distance of three-feet should be maintained between two worshippers. Ablution should be made at home. Wash hands with soap mass sehr and iftar as well as shaking hands and embracing should be avoided.
One hundred and two more deaths due to Coronavirus have been reported across Pakistan during the last twenty-four hours.
According to the latest statistics issued by the National Command and Operation Center, 4,004 new positive cases have been reported in the country after conducting tests of 41,699 people during the same period.
There are now 64,373 active cases in the country.
The death toll due to Covid-19 pandemic has now reached 15,026 while 620,789 patients stand recovered from the disease.
