PR started 24 new trains to provide better travelling facilities to passengers

The Senate was told today that, over the past year and a half, Pakistan Railways started 24 new trains to provide passengers with better travel facilities.

Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Azam Swati told the House during Question Hour that, during the last fiscal year, the introduction of new trains also resulted in additional revenue of over four billion rupees.

The Minister said the implementation of the Trains Tracking System and EFI locomotives led to a two million liters reduction in fuel consumption.

Azam Khan Swati told the House that an epic plan is being formulated for Islamabad to build modern infrastructure according to the needs of the capital’s residents.

He said that this requires the construction of new sewerage pipes. He added that regulations are being designed to ensure that buildings are easily accessible to disabled people.

Meanwhile, Federal Government Employees Housing Authority Bill passed the Senate 2019 today.

It was moved by Chaudhary Tariq Bashir Cheema, Minister of Housing and Works.

The House will meet at three on Monday.
