 PPP takes lead in first phase of Sindh Local Bodies Elections

The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) took a clean lead in the first phase of Sindh’s local bodies elections in 14 districts, according to unofficial results.

So far, the results of 309 out of 354 seats in urban municipal committees have come to light, with the PPP winning 244 seats.

After PPP, GDA won 22 seats, Independent candidates 20, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf 14, JUI-F 7 while other parties won 2 seats.

On the other hand, in the town committees of 14 districts including Sukkur, Larkana, Nawabshah, Mirpur Khas and Sanghar, the PPP also managed to get an overwhelming majority where out of 694 seats, the PPP has won 426 seats.

GDA won 65 seats, Independents won 62 seats and PTI won 10 seats while JUI-F won 8 seats and other parties won 12 seats.

PPP won 36 out of 56 seats in Nawabshah Town Committee but MQM could not win any seat in Nawabshah urban area.

PPP leads in Mirpur Khas too

Out of 69 seats of Town Committee Mirpur Khas, unofficial results of 68 came out.

According to the unofficial results, the PPP won a clear lead with 53 seats, while the independent candidate won 7 seats and the MQM came third with 4 seats.

The results of 45 out of 67 seats in the Town Committee Sanghar have come out so far out of which 32 seats have been won by PPP while the GDA which has a clear influence in Sanghar has won only 8 seats.

The PPP also won a landslide victory in the Town Committee Kashmore where the results of 39 seats have come out so far out of which the PPP has won 32 seats.

The results of all the 17 seats of Sukkur Town Committee came out in which PPP won 11 seats, Independent 3 and PTI 2 seats while GDA managed to win one seat.

Out of a total of 82 seats in Nawshehro Feroze, results of 75 seats were declared out of which 57 seats were won by PPP while Independent candidate 13, PML-N, GDA, MQM and others won one seat each.

The results of 28 out of 32 seats of Town Committee Shikarpur came out. Here also PPP is leading with 14 seats, GDA has won 4 seats and JUI-F has won 3 seats.

The results of 36 out of 46 seats of Town Committee Qambar Shahdadkot came out of which 26 seats were won by PPP, 9 by independent candidates and JUI-F won one seat.

The results of all the 26 seats of Tharparkar Town Committee came out, out of which PPP won 19 seats, Independent won 4 seats and PTI won 3 seats.
