PPP observes 15th death anniversary of Benazir Bhutto today

The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) is observing the 15th death anniversary of first Muslim woman prime minister of Pakistan, Benazir Bhutto today (Tuesday). The party has organized a public rally in Larkana to mark the day.
In a statement, Larkana Police said that around 8,140 police personnel will be deployed for the security of the shrine of Benazir Bhutto in Garhi Khuda Bakhsh.
The venue has been decorated with PPP flags, banners and large portraits of party leaders.
The day will begin with the recitation of the Quran at the shrine and Mushaira will also be held to pay homage to Benazir Bhutto.
PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah also arrived at Naudero House from Moenjo Daro Airport.
Benazir Bhutto’s son and the Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto has urged the PPP’s stalwarts to join the rally to remember the first female prime minister of Pakistan who was martyred in an attack after a public rally in Rawalpindi.
“We draw inspiration from her heroic struggle against dictatorship and extremism. She taught us to serve the people, to strive for a Pakistan for all, not just a privileged few,” he said.
Benazir Bhutto was assassinated on December 27, 2007, at Liaquat Bagh Rawalpindi when she was there to address a public rally. Shoots were fired at her followed by a suicide blast.
