KARACHI: Electricity supply to DHA and Clifton areas could not be restored even after passage of four days since the last spell of hit Karachi on Aug 27.

Residents of Clifton staged a demonstration against the K-Electric – the sole electricity supplying entity for Karachi – and set tyres on fire to block the roads. One protester caught fire and was burnt to death on this occasion.

Angry protesters staged demonstration at Boat Basin roundabout for the restoration of electricity after the area was plunged into darkness since Thursday immediately after heavy rain and thunder pounded the megalopolis.

Spokesperson of KE said that electricity to Bukhari Commercial, Ittehad Commercial, Kyhayaban e Shehbaz and 26th Street could not be restored as rainwater was accumulated on streets.
