Pope Francis has warned against inequitable solutions to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, saying they would only be a prelude to new crises.
He expressed views while referring to US President Donald Trump’s Middle East peace proposed plan.
The Pope made these comments in Italian port city of Bari, where he traveled to conclude a meeting of bishops from all countries in the Mediterranean basin.

On Feb 7, a leading Saudi Arabia’s newspaper had claimed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia supported Palestinian cause at all levels to ensure establishment of independent state with East Jerusalem (Al-Quds) as its capital.
In its editorial, Al-Bilad newspaper had said that the Kingdom’s principled and firm position towards the Palestinian cause was seen as cornerstone of strengthening resilience of Palestinian people to confront crimes of Israeli occupation.
The paper had further said, Saudi Arabia was supporting the Palestinian cause at all political, economic and social levels to achieve a fair, comprehensive and permanent solution that protected legitimate rights of Palestinian people.
