ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday unveiled new political map of the country that truly represents aspirations of the people of the country.
The federal cabinet has given green light for the map, which shows the entire Jammu and Kashmir region and Junagadh district as its parts. Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said the government had highlighted international border in the map. “Our destination is Srinagar and the dream seen by our elders,” he said.
In a televised address, PM Imran Khan said the new map supported the principled stance of the people of Pakistan as well as the Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir about the Kashmir issue.
The prime minister said the new map also negated India’s occupational illegal action of August 5 last year. “It is the most important day of the history,” he added.
He said the map, which had been endorsed by the federal cabinet, was fully backed by the entire political leadership of the country. He said the new official map would henceforth be used in curriculum.
Imran Khan reiterated that implementation of the UN Security Council resolutions was the only solution to the Kashmir dispute.
He said Pakistan would continue its political and diplomatic efforts for resolution of the longstanding dispute. He hoped that we will achieve this goal one day.
