ISLAMABAD: The oral polio virus vaccine (OPV) drive has started from Monday (today) for next five days across the country. Pakistan will administer around 40.1 million children under this drive.
The anti-polio drive of 2021 has begun across the country, which would last till January 15 with additional two day activity in risky areas.
Moreover, Afghanistan will also begin its polio immunization drive.
20.1 million children under five years age will be vaccinated in Punjab, 9.2 million in Sindh, 7.1 million in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), 2.5 million in Balochistan, 7 million in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and 240,000 in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB).
However, 285,000 health workers are the part of the national polio campaign out of which 28,000 are selected to be the area in-charge.
