Quetta: The three-day Polio Eradication Programme is all set to commence from the 4th of November in thirteen districts of Quetta, Balochistan.
According to Emergency Operation Centre Balochistan Coordinator Rashid Razaq, the programme has started in districts of Nasirabad, Jafarabad, Jhal Magsi, Sehbatpur, Dera Bugti, Loralai, Duki, Harnai, Ziarat, Quetta, Pishin, Qilla Abdullah. In the current year, seven cases of polio have been detected. Three in Qilla Abdullah, two in Jafarabad, one in Quetta and another in Harnai where the special programme is taking place.
The programme is aimed at vaccinating more than thirteen lac children at the age of five. 7481 teams will take part in the campaign out of which 4547 will be mobile teams, 450 fixed and 444 transit.
