ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed on Thursday said the elements who wanted to spread anarchy in the country would face failure in their designs.
“Eighty-six percent fencing has been done on the Afghanistan border and forty-six percent on the Iran border,” he said in a video statement regarding the blast in Johar Town area of Lahore on Wednesday.
He said the government had achieved political and economic stability, which was not acceptable to the enemies, therefore, they carried out subversive acts. “However, they will not succeed in their designs,” he said.
Sheikh Rasheed said Punjab Police had achieved tremendous success in the investigation into the Johar Town blast.
He said the police would soon arrest the accused and give good news to people. At least three people were killed and dozens others injured in a blast near a house in Lahore’s Johar Town on June 23. The glass windows of nearby houses and buildings were shattered.
An eyewitness had revealed that the bomb was planted on an unknown bike parked outside the house.
