A police officer was killed as he was trying to break up a fight between two roosters in Philippines.

According to a foreign news agency, a police officer who was raiding an illegal cockfight in the Northern Samar province in the Philippines was attacked by a fighting rooster, which cut the police officer’s artery with a sharp blade in the cock’s claw. ۔

The police officer was rushed to a hospital but died due to excessive bleeding. Christine Bolok was the San Jose Town Police Chief who was killed by the cock’s gaff, a metal blade attached to gamecock’s claw.

The rooster’s blade cut through the officer’s femoral artery on his left thigh. It should be noted that in view of Corona, the local government has banned cockfighting since August the following year in order to prevent the people’s gathering, which could lead to the spread of Corona.

Provincial police chief Colonel Arnel Apud said he could not believe the incident when he first heard about it. He said for the first time in 25 years he heard about a policeman losing his life due to a fighting cock’s spur.
