On November 22, Karachi police opened fire on forty-year-old Nabeel Hoodbhoy’s car and shot him dead near Cantt Station, Karachi. The family of Hoodbhoy’s says that the investigation into his death is not impartial. Police is trying to protect their own.
It is said that three policemen including Sub-Inspector Ghaffar, Head Constable Aftab and Police Constable Mohammad Ali Shah opened fire on Hoodbhoy’s car when they stopped it at Cantt Station. Nabeel along with his friend Raza Imam were in the car.
But Hoodbhoy’s family is not satisfied with the way the investigation is proceeding. Saif Javed Mir, their lawyer addressed a press conference on Thursday (28th November) in Karachi and said no high ranking officer has been suspended.
Hoodbhoy’s mother, Laila, has appealed to Prime Minister Imran Khan for justice. She said they will not forgive anyone in this case.
