LAHORE: On Prime Minister Imran Khan’s taking notice, Punjab Police have recovered rent money of a widow residing in Lahore from brother of a SSP-ranked police officer.
Ayesha Mazhar’s call to PM Imran in ‘Apka Wazir e Azam Apkey Sath’ program had gone viral on social media. She relayed that it had been two years since Zeeshan Asghar (ex-Lahore SSP Investigation and now posted in Balochistan) and Imran Asghar, the police officer’s brother, were not paying her the rent worth about Rs0.5 million. She had rented her house at DHA Rahbar Housing Society in Lahore to Imran in 2019.
After the police recovered her money, Ayesha Mazhar in a video statement said that the issue had been resolved and she had reached an agreement with Imran Asghar that he would withdraw the civil case filed against her, while she had received the dues from him.
Punjab Police in an official statement said, “Due to the intervention of the IGP Punjab, the outstanding amount of Rs4,72,000 has been paid by the former tenant to the aggrieved lady Ayesha Mazhar.
“Furthermore, the civil case filed by accused Imran Asghar against Ms Ayesha Mazhar has also been withdrawn by him. The matter is completely resolved.”
