KOHAT: Police on Tuesday foiled an attempt to smuggle huge quantity of arms and ammunition on Kohat Indus Highway.

SHO Irfan Khan of Jarma police station along his team members carried searching of a passenger coach at a check post near Muslimabad area and arrested Noor Nawaz, a resident of Bannu, for his alleged involvement in smuggling weapons interprovinces.

Police confiscated three pistols and 3,000 rounds which were being smuggled from Darra Adam Khel to southern districts.

A case has been registered against the suspect at Jarma police station.
