Police arrest two suspects for torturing police officials

KARACHI: Police on Wednesday arrested two suspects after a video surfaced in which a man could be seen slapping a police official in Orangi Town, Karachi.

Two police officials were subjected to torture in Mominabad area. The enraged citizens claimed that they entered their houses without taking any permission. An investigation has been launched in the case.

Police have recovered drugs and weapons from the suspects. They said the suspects belonged to an organized group of drug peddlers. The police officials had gone to take action against drug smuggling activity, the security officials claimed.

The man who slapped the police official could not be detained so far. A case has been registered against the culprits.

Police said the law enforcers took action without informing high officials about it.
