KARACHI: Police have arrested seven members of White Corolla Gang alleged to be involved in scores of criminal incidents.
The suspects have made crucial revelations during police interrogation.
According to details, police received tip-off of a suspicious vehicle’s roaming about in Bahadurabad area. Police put barricades at the exit points of the area, meanwhile, they exchanged fire during an encounter with the suspects.
Police arrested seven suspects, four of them were injured. A Kalashnikov and six pistols were recovered from their possession.
According to Ferozabad police, the arrested suspects were involved in high-profile robberies. The arrested suspects include three Afghan nationals and four Pakistanis. White Corolla Gang leader Aziz-ur-Rehman is also among the arrested suspects, police said. The accused has been arrested for the third time by Ferozeabad police station officials.
Police claimed that the arrested accused were also involved in a robbery at the office of a Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf Member of National Assembly. The accused had looted Rs4.2 million and other valuables during the robbery. Apart from this, the suspects had robbed administration of a language centre at Karsaz and a multinational company’s service center as well.
The gang members have admitted to committed 10 crimes in one year, while aggregately they had committed more than 30 crimes.
This should be noted that the same gang was embroiled in martyring additional SHO Abdul Raheem Khan in Gulistan e Johar.
For a long time, Karachi police had been chasing the Corolla gang and had arrested several of its members earlier as well.
