Police arrest handlers of dogs who attacked senior lawyer

KARACHI: Police on Tuesday arrested two handlers of the dogs who attacked and mauled a senior lawyer in Karachi’s Defence Housing Authority (DHA) area.
An FIR was lodged against the dog handlers after a lawyers’ association demanded immediate arrest of the culprits and probe into the incident.
SSP South Imran Mirza said that one suspect namely Daniyal had fled while his father had already gotten bail from court. He said Section 324 of attempted murder was also included in the FIR along other sections.
Police said the incident had taken place when Mirza Akhtar, father of Advocate Taimoor Ali, was passing in front of the house of Daniyal who was standing with the dogs, who attacked the aged man. The man was left badly wounded.
The owner of the dogs is reportedly brother in law of actor Adnan Siddiqui.
