KARACHI: Police have arrested family members for swindling in the name of marriage in Karachi.
The accused include a husband, wife and two sons. Police arrested the accused when they reached the wedding hall.
According to the sources, already 30 cases have been registered against the fraudulent family in Aziz Bhatti police station.
Moreover, the arrest was made after a resident of North Nazimabad Block A lodged a complaint that he had arranged the marriage of his daughter with the son of a man named Naeemuddin and they took dowry and Rs 50,000 cash. The groom’s father had introduced himself as a retired intelligence officer and their actions were suspected to be fraudulent.
However, when the investigations carried out, the whole family turned out to be forgers.
When the family arrived at the wedding hall, the police arrested Naeemuddin, his groom son, Ibad and another son Tanzal including his wife.
The accused Naeemuddin used to pretend to be a retired officer of the customs, police and intelligence agencies and allegedly receive large sums of money from naive people to get his work done.
