Police arrest 55 suspects from Dir Colony in Peshawar
PESHAWAR: Police have arrested 55 suspects from Dir Colony and its adjacent areas in Peshawar following the IED bomb blast at the madrassa.
Agha Mir Jani Shah police station’s officers have launched a major operation in Yakatoot area. Elite Force, Rapid Response Force, K-9 Unit and ladies police also participated in the operation along district police officials. They also recovered illegal firearms during this operation from the suspects. A special interrogation team has been formed for investigation from them.
Police have expedited intelligence based and search operations in the district. SSP Operations Manzoor Aman said that security of the city was put on high alert and a special security plan was devised for Eid Milad un Nabi (SAWW).
The investigation team apprised that the terrorists conducted reccee of the teacher and students of the madrassa. Labourers are also being interrogated as on the day of the blast repairing work was going on at ablution places. They have recorded statements of eyewitnesses about placing of a bag by a suspected person in the madrassa, while a madrassa student is also under custody.
