Poetry or Good Night Messages are the form of Harassment, Kashmala Tariq

Islamabad: Federal Ombudsman for Anti-Harassment, Kashmala Tariq said that unnecessary messages, good morning messages, poetry or good night messages are the form of harassment.
Addressing a function in Islamabad, Federal Ombudsman for Anti-Harassment Kashmala Tariq said that we have a law on women’s property rights, women do not know what their rights are.
“If women are not getting the right to the property, they can contact our department. Women can apply online without a lawyer,” she said.
She clarified that women will get justice only when they apply. This new law is a testament to the excellent performance of this government.
Kashmala Tariq further said that if someone says that you are looking beautiful then it is also harassment. All institutions are required to form a three-member Sexual Harassment committee and those who do not establish a committee may be penalized.
She also said that why we wait for a major accident to form a committee, the committee must decide based on the standard of harassment.
In this regard, she added that sending unnecessary messages is an attack on someone’s private space, good morning messages, poetry or good night messages are harassment and if someone sends a message for no reason, it is also harassment.
Regarding the institution, she added that our institution is also for men and transgender people, we get cases from colleges while teachers in educational institutions harass female students, so far our institution has adjudicated 4000 cases. We make sure no woman is retaliated against.
