PML-N’s Javed Latif faces backlash on social media

The government supporters on social media have condemned Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz MNA Mian Javed Latif’s recent remarks in which he made a reference to the separation of East Pakistan while mentioning ”victimisation” of his party’s leadership.

“It will be a great tragedy don’t replay (the episode of) East Pakistan, have mercy on Pakistan,” remarked Latif during a program broadcasted on SAMAA TV last night.

People on Twitter are demanding an apology from the politician for ”threatening to break up the country” and speaking against “the integrity of Pakistan”.

Earlier former prime minister and PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif has alleged that some authorities in Pakistan are threatening his daughter and the party’s vice president Maryam Nawaz.

Journalist and anchor associated with SAMAA TV, Paras Jahanzaib, took to Twitter on Friday and posted a clip from her show “News Beat” which she hosts from Friday to Sunday at 10 pm.

اگر خدا ناخواستہ مریم نواز شریف کو کچھ ہوا تو ہم پیپلز پارٹی کی طرح پاکستان کھپے کا نعرہ نہیں لگائیں گے۔ میاں جاوید لطیف @SamaaNewsBeat @Mian_JavedLatif pic.twitter.com/7cakg29Sq7

Latif said that when PPP leader and former prime minister Benazir Bhutto was murdered, her party made a slogan “Pakistan Khappay” (We Want Pakistan).

“If anything bad happens against Maryam Nawaz we won’t chant ‘Pakistan Khappay‘ ,” he added.

However, no clarification has been given from PML-N and the MNA so far.
