KHUSHAB: The Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) candidate Moazzam Sher Kallu has won the PP-84 by-election in Khushab.
The PML-N has retained the seat which was left vacated following demise of its leader Malik Muhammad Waris Kallo in March, 2021.
According to the unofficial and unconfirmed count which concluded on Thursday morning, Moazzam won the election with 73,081 votes, while Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Ali Hussain Baloch stood runner up with 62,903 votes.
Upon victory, Moazzam Sher Kallu took to Twitter and first of all thanked Allah (SWT) then people of Khushab for voting for him.
According to Provincial Election Commission, a total of eight candidates were vying for the seat and tough contest was held between PTI candidate Sardar Ali Hussain Khan Baloch and Malik Moazzam Sher Kallu of PML-N.
The total number of registered voters in the constituency is 292,687 while 229 polling stations were established to facilitate the voters.
