PML-N decides to move no-trust motion against Punjab CM, Speaker PA

The PML-N lawmakers on Saturday decided to move no-confidence motion against Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi and Speaker Punjab Assembly Sibtain Khan ahead of PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s announcement of the date for the dissolution of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assemblies.
PML-N’s 106 members of provincial assembly gathered at the residence of party leader Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan to discuss the move and also signed the no-trust motion, sources said.
Opposition is likely to submit no-trust-motion against the CM Punjab and Speaker PA today.
Earlier, Punjab Governor Balighur Rehman had said that Punjab CM Chaudhry Parvez Elahi has the power to dissolve the assembly, so ‘I have the power to ask him to take a vote of confidence.’
It should be noted that, PTI Chairman Imran Khan will announce the date for dissolving the Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) assemblies’ today (December 17) while addressing a Jalsa via video link at Liberty Chowk in Lahore.
On the other hand, PML-Q leader and son of Punjab CM, Moonis Elahi has convinced several Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders to delay the dissolution of Punjab Assembly, according to sources.
Earlier a day, CM Elahi traveled to Rawalpindi where he held an important meeting. After returning to Lahore at night, he consulted with party leaders on the prevailing political situation.
Parvez Elahi has advised Imran Khan to not dissolve the assemblies yet as he does not want the Punjab Assembly to be dissolved.
