Prime Minister Imran Khan has expressed commitment to work for the upliftment of the weak and underprivileged segments of the society.

While addressing a ceremony held on Thursday, the premier said that it was very difficult for the lower or salaried class to construct or purchase a house in the cities due to soaring prices of land.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office, Imran Khan participated as a chief guest at the inauguration and balloting ceremony of 1008 flats and 500 houses for labourers in Islamabad today.

According to the PM, the government has started Naya Pakistan Housing Program with a new mindset to provide support to these segments of the society to own a house.

“We have introduced a legislation under which the banks will provide loans on five percent interest rate for the construction of houses,” the PM added.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister has assured to allocate more funds for the housing program with the increase in the revenue of the government so that the working and the salaried class could build their houses.
