PM Shehbaz Sharif summons meeting of coalition partners
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday summoned a meeting of parliamentary leaders belonging to the coalition partners to discuss the overall political situation in the country, according to sources.
The meeting is set to take place at 6pm to discuss the overall political situation in the country, the sources said,
Yesterday, former President and PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari met PM Shehbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister’s House to discuss the “country’s overall political situation.”
On the other hand, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) confirmed receiving a summary for the appointment of the Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) and Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC).
PMO’s official twitter account said it had received the summary with a panel of names for the appointment of chairman joint chiefs of staff committee and the chief of the army staff.
Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb has also confirmed that the summary sent by the Ministry of Defense has been received by the PMO, while PM Shehbaz Sharif has also called a meeting of the parliamentary leaders of the coalition parties today.
“Prime Minister [Shehbaz Sharif] will take a decision on the appointments as per the laid down procedure,” Marriyum said.
Earlier, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif confirmed that the Prime Minister’s office (PMO) has received the summary for the appointment of the Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) and Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC).
