Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif left for London to meet his elder brother and PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif.

According to media reports, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif went to London a few days ago and was supposed to leave for Pakistan on November 11, but due to ill health, he extended his stay for two days.

During premier’s stay in London, he discussed the appointment of the new army chief, the next general elections, the strategy to deal with PTI’s long march and other important issues with PML-N supreme leader Nawaz Sharif.

It was decided in the meeting that the appointment of the Army Chief is a constitutional responsibility which will be carried out constitutionally and the decision will be made purely on the basis of merit.

Earlier, Minister for planning and development Ahsan Iqbal informed that the appointment of the new Army Chief will be announced before November 29 and the Prime Minister will take the ruling Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) into confidence.

PM Shehbaz Sharif left for London after the conclusion of the two-day climate conference in Egypt last week.

Shehbaz Sharif stayed in London with only his private staff while other members of the delegation left for Islamabad after the UN’s climate conference.
