PM Shehbaz appears before IHC in missing persons case

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif appeared before the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Friday during the hearing of the missing persons case.
The case related to missing persons was heard under the chairmanship of Chief Justice Islamabad High Court (IHC) Justice Athar Minallah
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif assured court to resolve the missing person issue.
Premier said that he is answerable to the people and God, to which Chief Justice remarked that it is the responsibility of the state to redress the sufferings of mission persons and their families.
“The court has troubled you as the case is about a major issue,” IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah said at the outset of the hearing, as PM Shehbaz Sharif walked to the rostrum.
“A chief executive ruled this country for nine years. He proudly wrote in his book that he sold his people abroad,” IHC CJ Minallah said. It seems like it was probably the “state’s policy”, he said.
Will reunite missing persons with their families: PM Shehbaz
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said in his statement that it was his duty to appear on the request of the court.
“The UN Secretary General is in Pakistan, I had a meeting with him but when I received the court order, I decided to appear before court,” Premier said.
“Reunite my father with me, this sentence of the child was very disturbing for me. I will not waste any opportunity to fulfill my responsibility. I assure you that I will reunite the missing persons with their families.” PM added.
Prime Minister assured that he will present report of each meeting by Committee on missing person issues to the court.
