PM Shahbaz to chair National Security Committee meeting today

An important meeting of the National Security Committee chaired by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif will be held today (Friday).
According to sources, a meeting of the National Security Committee has been convened at 2 pm today, which will be attended by the Chiefs of Armed Forces and Federal Ministers.
Sources said that former ambassador to US Asad Majeed Khan has also been summoned in the meeting of National Security Committee.
Sources further said that Asad Majeed would brief the committee on the facts regarding the alleged “threat letter”.
Earlier, PTI Chairman and former Prime Minister Imran Khan had waved a letter during a public gathering in Islamabad on March 27, claiming that a conspiracy to overthrow his government was being hatched by a very powerful country.
The Foreign Office later issued a demarche protest over the issue to the US Secretary of State in Islamabad.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, who was elected after the success of the no-confidence motion against Imran Khan, had announced in his first speech that a meeting of the National Security Committee would be convened to investigate the alleged threatening letter in the National Assembly.
